Sachin's debut

Sachin made thunderous debut to first class cricket hitting centuries in Ranji, Duleep and Irani trophies during his debut matches. Ever since he and kambli put on a record breaking 664 run partnership in a school match the selectors had an eye on him. Getting in to a star studded Mumbai team was never an easy job to do. But due to his breathtaking performance in 1988/89 season scoring 3 centuries in five innings including two double centuries one of them was a triple hundred, getting out only one time and averaging 1032, he was chosen to play for Mumbai. During his debut in the ranji trophy match against Gujarat he scored a century making him the youngest to do so. Centuries in debut in all three domestic tournaments earned him a national call and it was a bloody debut for sachin, he played his first test against Pakistan in Karachi in November 15 1989 facing the likes of legendary Imran khan, Wasim akram, Abdul quadir, and fiery Waqar younis. On the final day of last test of his first series he got hit on the nose by Waqar Younis. He declined the medical assistance, just whipped of the blood and continued playing. He got a courageous 57 which helped India to draw the match. The match showed both his talent and his passion for the game, it was truly an amazing debut.

Sachin inspired me : Ross taylor

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has said that Sachin has inspired him to take up cricket. Ross taylor said that he came to cricket seeing sachin tendulkar play. During the ongoing tour in New Zealand tour the explosive New Zealand middle order batsman commented on Sachin, stating that the innings 0f 83 runs from 46 made by Sachin against new Zealand at Auckland during his first tour to New Zealand has inspired him greatly and also made him to take cricket more seriously.

Hattrick for sachin

Yes, a hat trick for sachin not in his bowling though, he has been given out wrongly yet another time. Though the wrong decision are nothing new to the great man, the most striking feature is that it has happened in three consecutive matches had it been for any other player it would have been a different story but for poor sachin both BCCI and ICC are keeping their mouth shut. Years later the record book will show only three single digit scores for sachin, not the wrong decision. Unfortunately he has to take it on his shoulders and move on without questioning any one. As the team is winning the BCCI never took a care about it had India lost the match then there would have been a serious controversy. In the recent year or so sachin has suffered lots of wrong decisions due to poor umpiring. The standard of umpiring should improve or at least technology must interfere.

Indian premier league

The growing hunger for twenty20’s where feasted by the provision of the IPL (the Indian premier league). The land of modern cricket (India) took the task of providing the ultra shorter version of the game to the people. For those who fed up with eight hour ODI’s which has only twenty over power plays (run feast) t20 is an absolute treat. T20 is pure entertainment just like three hour action packed movie. To add to that watching their favorite sons battling each other on the cricketing field it’s entertainment at its best. IPL has 8 teams namely Mumbai Indians, Chennai super kings, Kolkata knight riders, Punjab kings 11, Delhi dare devils, Rajasthan royals, Deccan chargers, Bangalore royal challengers. The teams are captained by sachin, dhoni, ganguly, yuvraj, sehwag, warne, gilchrist, dravid respectively. With many other international stars in the teams it’s a great opportunity for the budding youngsters to clash with the titans of the game . This year’s inaugural event is one of the biggest hit in the cricketing world. The tournament was won by the Rajasthan royals who were considered the under dogs initially. And event is much awaited next year as the ganguly fans can once again see their tiger roar.
